Confidential Help for Alcohol & Drugs, Inc. (C.H.A.D.)
mission is to enable individuals to improve their lives and reach their full potential by treating substance use disorder through physical, mental and spiritual rehabilitation.

Since its beginning in 1970 the agency has evolved to meet the ever challenging needs of the community but the mission has always remained constant

We are a group of highly trained Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC), striving to help our patients meet their needs. C.H.A.D. is licensed by New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) as an Outpatient facility that provides clinical services for people with substance use disorder and their families who have been impacted by their substance use. Outpatient services may be delivered at different levels of intensity according to the needs of the patient. These services include counseling, education, and connections to community services.

C.H.A.D is the prevention provider of Cayuga County through OASAS and delivers a wide range of services including evidence-based education programs, workshops, and training sessions in community-based settings such as schools. C.H.A.D. also houses the Cayuga County Drug Free Community Coalition which, works on policy and enforcement efforts to reduce underage substance use and creates positive alternative activities for youth.

A modern approach

It’s essential for us that our patients have options for services online and in-person. C.H.A.D. offers Telehealth which is the use of electronic information and telecommunication technology to get the health care you need while practicing social distancing. All you need is a phone or device with the internet to participate in treatment services, while protecting yourself and our staff from COVID-19

Affordable help starts here.

We accept most insurances, Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care and offer convenient personalized payment plans - at C.H.A.D. we believe payment should not be a barrier to treatment. We never refuse care to anyone who is unable to pay. Once admitted, we work with those patients to find them funding and insurance options.

If you need Medicaid or Medicaid Managed Care, you can enroll at the NYS Health Exchange.
